Abnormal.

That was the first word you had ever heard from those tiny creatures behind the wall.

They had called you an ‘Abnormal’.

The word still rang through your mind even after many years. You were labelled, meaning you were different to the other Titans.

Why did they refer to you as ‘abnormal’?

It was rather simple really.

Though there was the fact you had the same appearance as a usual Titan, your muscles clear on show, bared teeth visible to the eye and dark facial features, the humans had never seen you attack or attempt to devour someone. Every attack, every encounter, every destruction of a city, you had always been there on the side line with your back pressed up against some type of building or the remains of a wall as a hand rested over the nape of your neck. You weren’t a very ‘eye-catching’ Titan either, making it easier for you to fade into the background.

Note: Due to your odd behaviour, the humans had labelled you as ‘The Observant Titan.’

Most times, no one seemed to bat an eyelid at your existence, but other times… All hell would break loose.

You remembered the first time you were attacked and the aftermath. The memory making a tremor of terror and pleasure course through your large body, the shudder visible and clear as your muscles tensed up before relaxing.

You had been rather ‘young’, so to say, when a human had attacked you for the first time. Due to your lack of fighting or general contact with humans, to say you were fearless would have been a lie. The man was rather short but the glare on his face made up for his height, two swords lying in the palms of his hands and a green cape lay over his shoulders with two coloured wings on the back.

Your (e/c) eyes had peered down at him in curiosity, a soft breeze ruffling the (h/c) hair on the surface of your scalp. Seeing as the man refused to move, you had thought he was of no threat and began to lower your hand to your side. The small motion seemed to trigger him and suddenly he was slicing up your arms with swift circular motions, your roar of pain echoing through the city.

Note: First of all, whatever or whoever you are, never let other Titans hear you when in pain. This makes them see you as their next lunch instead of another of their species.

The man had appeared shocked by your roar and noticed a horde of Titans coming your way, blood apparent on their faces and bits of flesh stuck to their teeth. You had then collapsed onto your knees as the man managed to leap away with the gear that was saddled on his hips, his grey eyes watching as your muscles sealed over the cuts and the blood dried. You had a grimace settled on your almost non-existence lips as a few 4-metre Titans bit into your thighs and legs, their yellowed teeth smothered in crimson.

Note: The 4-metre Titans were quite short compared to you as you were a 12-metre Titan, a rather rare height compared to the 15-metres and 7-metres.

You had lashed out at the smaller monsters and used your nails to rip the back of their necks off. You had caught sight of the other Titans hurrying towards you after you had killed your third 4-metre, your eyes widening and took a cautious step back- crushing a small cart full of fruit and wine in the process.

You had winced when the weird texture met the sole of your foot but continued to back away, only taking full action when a 15-metre Titan leapt at you and ripped part of your (h/c) hair out of the side of your head. Kicking at its face, you raced past its crumpled form when it fell from the new force.

Note: Even if you were shorter and had less skill in fighting, you were extremely strong for a non-violent Titan.

Your feet pounded against the cobblestone streets and pressed a hand against your neck as multiple flashes of green entered your vision. You whipped your head around to see that most Titans in the city were being drawn to your scent of panic and chasing you, the tiny humans in capes fighting any who were coming near the other humans that were trying to run. You only watched in horror as most were crushed or eaten alive by your ‘brethren’, the remaining survivors losing limbs or staring in shock as they lost their comrades. Sure you had seen things like this before, you had been there when the Colossal Titan broke down Wall Maria! But seeing it up so close made you backtrack, your small collection of emotions screaming out to help the small creatures.

Note: Due to Titans lacking emotions, you only had a small collection of your own.

You turned back around and took a sharp corner that lead towards the entrance of the city, the multiple Titans behind you following in a blind haze of hunger as they crashed into some vacant buildings and shoved eachother out of the way. You scanned the path in front of you for any life and found none, a sigh of some sorts escaped your mouth but then you spotted a red-headed woman in green standing in the middle of the road you were running down. Her eyes seemed to sparkle and remained stiff in the centre of the road as she beamed at you and the other Titans with a crazed Cheshire smile.

Glancing behind you once again, dread filled your being as some 15-metres had begun to catch up and were staring at the woman instead of you. Panic set in, a new emotion might I say, as they began to race in the direction of the small female with the intention of devouring her.

A deathly growl vibrated in the back of your throat when one lunged forward to grab her. You managed to collide into the Titans shoulder and set it off course before its hand touched her, the woman still staring at you in wonder as you spun round and took a moment to gain your composure instead of falling forward.

Note: Being your height, gravity and balance was not a kind factor in life.

Two 7-metres immediately attacked you in your weakened state, your eyes quickly glancing to the human behind you to find her still standing only a yard away. Yanking the two Titans away, you hurled each at the horde heading toward you, slowing the few at the front down. Seeing this as a good opportunity, you snatched the red-head in your palm and used your fingers to keep her still as you ran towards the rest of the humans.

Note: Being ‘The Observant Titan’ was a good thing sometimes. Being out of action and watching the battle usually meant it was easier to keep track of who was where, what was happening and how the humans defeated Titans.

Your footsteps echoed throughout the city walls as you cradled the woman in your gentle grip, her hair bouncing in the high-ponytail it was put in and the sunlight gleaming on the rim of her glasses. She was pretty cute…

You were drawn from your thoughts when the familiar green caught your eye and you slowed to an uneasy jog, the woman in your grip still staring at you with a quizzical gaze as you stopped and slapped your hand over the nape of you neck as a sword pierced your hand. Your mouth twitched down at the small pinch of pain.

Your eyes connected with the man who had attacked you beforehand as his glare seemed to increase when he spotted the woman in your hand and tensed up. Maybe she was his mate?

Note: Living in the wild your whole life did have some effects on your mind-set.

Taking this into consideration, you moved your hand to the top of a nearby building and slid her onto its bumpy surface. You then noticed the lack of gear on her form, the man obviously noticing too as a dark scowl crossed his features and seemed to check the tank on his own equipment but keeping an eye on you whilst suspicion seemed to radiate off him in waves.

Didn’t that tank hold the gas that enabled the humans to fly?

A frown flickered on your lips and you noticed the dead body of one of their comrades, their equipment seeming to still be working and in order besides the blood on it.

Still frowning, you raised the soldier up and laid her on the roof besides the redheaded woman, her eyes widening in horror but quickly coming to a realisation that the girl still had working equipment she could use.  You were going to watch her put it on but felt a new force send you flying into a tall building with bells at the top, the bells creating a dull noise as you quickly stood up and faced another 15-metre with elfish ears.

It seemed… Off.

Note: Even if Titans have a lack of emotions, they can still sense when something isn’t fully right.

You stood up as a dull ache throbbed in your back, the elf-Titan screeching and charging for you. Ducking, the Titan punched the painted wall of the clock tower, narrowly missing the top of your head in the process. You kicked its middle and grabbed its hair, bashing its head into the tower’s wall like it did with its own fist.

The two of you continued to attack each other when it was suddenly drawn away by the screeching of some other humans on the other side of the city. It gave you one last glance and charged off, its legs moving rapidly as it leapt over buildings and destroyed any other Titan it came across.

You were left with just the sounds of your pants and the dull ache in your back. You supposed the Titan did deserve your thanks for killing the other Titans that were chasing you earlier but considering how it attacked you… That probably wasn’t a good idea.

Note: You may have been a Titan, but you weren’t a stupid Titan.

You looked around in hopes to see the two humans you had seen earlier. Well, you mostly wanted to see the female again but instead of seeing the two green-covered humans, you were met with the sight of a Titan with a large head and bulging eyes holding a man with black hair and dark spots that were spread across his cheeks like a sort of blush. His brown eyes held unshed tears and thrashed in the Titan’s grip, yelling about this other human called ‘Jean’ as the Titan opened its mouth.

You felt anger, hatred, depression, shock and a sort of determination flush through your body like a surge of heated liquid being pumped into your blood as the scene unravelled. You were angry at how blind you had been, you hated how so many humans were dying in attempt of protecting their friends and family, you were depressed from the amount of death you had seen, you were shocked at how merciless the other Titans were and you were determined that man would NOT DIE.

A warrior screech escaped your mouth, loud enough to beat the elf-Titan by a long shot, and the big-headed Titan turned from its victim that was still squirming in its grip. You felt your skin heat up as you sent a flying punch at the Titan’s face, its head coming clean off and its body slumping to the floor.

Crouching down, you uncurled its fist that was entwined around the freckled-man’s body, the man still shivering in shock and terror. You picked him up by his cape and held him in your hand like he was a child, the man’s tears starting to escape as he sobbed and clutched to his leather straps.

You brushed your thumb on the man’s black hair as his sobs stopped and he stared at you with wide eyes. A smile settled on your face and that’s when you noticed it… You noticed the silence. No more screams, no more squelching of blood, no more… Death.

The man noticed too and stood up shakily in your palm, his hands holding the tips of your fingers as he peered over the top of them.

“Eren did it… He completed the mission.”
